The NHS is warning that people have just a few days left to get their coronavirus booster before a universal jab campaign comes to an end. From Sunday, February 12, healthy adults between 16 and 49 years old will no longer be able to take up the offer of a booster jab.
From next week, the autumn booster campaign will end and booster jabs will only be offered to people considered to be at risk of serious illness. It comes after the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation's (JCVI) latest recommendations to the health service.
The NHS covid vaccination programme will run a smaller operation after this week, which will allow those yet to come forward for first, second or third doses if severely immunosuppressed, to book appointments. However, the JCVI has also recommended that the offer of initial vaccinations to healthy five to 49-year-olds should be withdrawn in 2023.

The advisers have suggested that a more targetted approach to vaccination should be taken from this year, but the government is yet to make any further announcements about future programmes. It is understood another autumn vaccination campaign could begin later this year, as well as a potential spring campaign for the most vulnerable.
Overall, 144.5 million coronavirus vaccine doses have been delivered across Britain since the start of the pandemic, with 17.3 million people getting a booster jab over the winter. There are 2,800 sites open across the country this week with 391,000 appointments available before the programme scales down, the NHS said.
