LUCKNOW: The Covid situation in Uttar Pradesh is under control, chief minister Yogi Adityanath informed Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a review meeting of the pandemic in the country on Wednesday.
"The Covid-19 situation is under control and concerted efforts have been launched in NCR districts to ensure that the virus does not spread," the CM told Modi and added: "Surveillance and precautionary measures have been stepped up in the NCR districts to prevent the surge in fresh cases."
An official statement citing the CM said that with successful implementation of 'Test, Trace, Treat and Vaccination' policy, UP was able to control the spread of Covid-19. It added that the CM also expressed gratitude to PM for his constant support and guidance throughout the pandemic.
Citing statistics about testing, treatment, availability of medical resources, Yogi informed Modi and the central team about the state's preparedness to deal with any kind of future challenges.
Officials pointed out that UP has sufficient availability of medical resources - 508 oxygen plants are functional and over 42,000 oxygen concentrators are available. They added that people are being made aware of Covid related information through public address systems at more than 6,000 places.
The Chief Minister also informed the Prime Minister that his government has worked hard to save the livelihood of the people, besides saving their lives. "As a result of these efforts, the revenue of the state has increased by about 25% while exports have risen by 30%," the statement said.
