Every part of Liverpool City Region saw positive Covid tests drop by at least 33%.
According to the latest data from Public Health England, the biggest fall in the six areas of the LCR was in Halton. Halton recorded 587 cases in the week ending April 7, which is 528 fewer cases than in the previous seven days.
This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure fell by 47% in Halton. The falls in the other five areas were: 41% in Knowsley; 44% in Liverpool; 42% in St Helens; 35% in Sefton; and 41% in Wirral.

In the Liverpool City Region, overall, there was a fall of 41% in the percentage change week-on-week figure. There were further decreases in Warrington, Cheshire West and Cheshire and West Lancs. There was also a fall of 35% in England overall.
Liverpool
Liverpool's positive tests came to 1,847 cases in the week ending April 7, which is 1,423 fewer cases than the previous week. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure fell by 44%. The latest infection rate was 369.1 cases per 100,000 people.
Wirral
Wirral's positive tests came to 1,597 cases in the week ending April 7, which is 1,114 fewer cases than in the previous seven days. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure went down by 41%. The latest infection rate was 492.4 cases per 100,000 people.
Halton
There were 587 positive tests over the last week - that's 528 fewer cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change figure went down by 47% in Halton in the week ending April 7. The latest infection rate is 452.4 cases per 100,000 people.
St Helens
There was a total of 799 cases in the week ending April 7, which is 570 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate in St Helens is 441.2 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure went down by 42%.
Knowsley
There was a total of 650 cases in the week ending April 7, which is 451 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate in Knowsley is 426.4 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure went fell by 41%.
Sefton
Sefton had a total of 1,301 cases in the week ending April 7, which is a 697 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate is 471.5 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases went down by 35% week on week.
Liverpool City Region
There were 6,781 positive tests over in the week ending April 7, which is 4,783 fewer cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change fell by 41%. The latest infection rate is 398.24 cases per 100,000 people.
Warrington
There were 1,082 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending April 7, which is 734 fewer cases than the previous week. The week-on-week percentage figure fell by 40%. There was an infection rate of 516.72 per 100,000 people.
Cheshire West and Chester
There were 1,806 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending April 7, which is 1,259 fewer cases than the previous week. The latest infection rate is 525.27 cases per 100,000 people, and the week-on-week percentage fell by 41% in cases.
West Lancs
There were 466 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending April 7, which is 295 fewer cases than the previous week. The latest infection rate in West Lancs is 407.00 cases per 100,000 people, and the week-on-week percentage fell by 39% in cases.
England
In the week ending April 7, England recorded 258,568 coronavirus cases, which is 165,527 fewer cases than in the previous seven days. There was a week-on-week percentage drop of 39% in cases in England, and there was an infection rate of 457.24 per 100,000 people.
