CHANDIGARH/SHIMLA: Haryana on Monday reported 480 new Covid-19 cases, six deaths and 849 recoveries. In addition, 65,457 persons were given the vaccine jabs during the day. Himachal Pradesh reported one Covid-19 death from Shimla district and 144 new positive cases, while 432 persons were declared recovered.
Punjab reported 103 fresh cases of Covid-19, while three persons infected with the coronavirus died on Monday. In addition, six old deaths were added to the state’s tally, while the treatment outcome of two cases was changed from discharged from death. The state has so far registered 9,78,884 Covid cases, of which 9,65,220 have recovered, 3,110 are under treatment, while 10,531 persons have died. Of the total active cases, 2,660 are in home isolation while rest are hospitalised.
On Monday, two deaths each were reported from Gurgaon, Panipat and Kurukshetra. Highest 181 new cases were reported from Gurgaon, followed by 53 from Palwal, 49 from Jhajjar and 36 cases from Faridabad. Rest districts reported less than 30 cases. The positivity rate and recovery rate were reported to be 2.35% and 98.60% and fatality rate of the day was reported to be 1.08%.
Himachal has so far registered 2,82,267 confirmed positive cases, of which 1,630 are under treatment, 2,76,539 have recovered, while 4,079 persons have died. So far total 44,41,587 persons have been tested for Covid-19 till date, of which 41,59,310 persons have been tested negative.
In Punjab, 21 persons were tested positive in Jalandhar, while 12 cases were reported in Mohali, nine in Fazilka, six in Patiala, five each in Barnala and Gurdaspur, four each in Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr and Tarn Taran, three each in Ferozepur and Ludhiana and Pathankot, two each in Amritsar, Moga and Ropar, and one each in Faridkot, Kapurthala, Muktsar, Sangrur and Fatehgarh Sahib.
In Punjab, 30,879 beneficiaries in different categories were jabbed of which 9,394 received their first dose and 21,485 received the second dose. In Haryana, first dose was given to 9,733, the second dose to 53,298 and the booster dose to 2,426.
