VISAKHAPATNAM: Andhra Pradesh reported 57 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday, taking the cumulative caseload to 23,18,858. The state did not record any Covid-19-related fatalities on Sunday.
Altogether, 84 people were declared cured. There are currently 606 active cases with the 23,03,522 cumulative recoveries and 14,730 fatalities. As many as 9 districts have less than 50 active cases each. East Godavari has 187 active cases, the highest among all the districts.
Anantapur reported 22 new infections on Sunday. Seven districts posted single-digit case numbers. Five districts - Kadapa, Kurnool, Nellore, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram– have not recorded any new cases.
Andhra Pradesh conducted 11,980 Covid-19 tests on Sunday and detected 57 new cases. This translates to a daily case positivity rate of 0.5%. The positivity rate has remained under 1% for the last several days.
State has so far administered 15.34 lakh precautionary doses. With 3.16 lakh cumulative cases, East Godavari continues to lead the table.
