ST. LOUIS — The number of COVID-19 patients hospitalized in southwest Missouri's Greene County has surpassed the highest levels seen in the winter.
The county's previous record of 237 COVID-19 patients was set on Dec. 1. On Monday, the health department reported 251 coronavirus patients in the county's hospitals.
Missouri reported 1,020 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, and the seven-day average was the highest since Jan. 29, according to a Post-Dispatch analysis.
More than 2.8 million Missourians have received a first dose of vaccine, or 46.1% of the state's total population. Of those, about 2.5 million have been fully vaccinated, or 40.2% of the population.
