Court sequel to body found in garage

Shane Ross Chard did not appear when his murder case was mentioned in Brisbane Magistrates Court. (AAP)

A man accused of murdering a 48-year-old whose body was found in a garage will remain behind bars.

Shane Ross Chard did not appear when his matter was mentioned in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

He is charged with one count of murder after Avzi Ejupi was found dead with head injuries in the garage of a house at Kingston, south of Brisbane, about 7pm on May 15.

The 54-year-old was arrested on Monday afternoon.

It is believed Mr Ejupi, 48, lived at the Augustus St, Kingston property.

Police said last week a number of people, including a 35-year-old man, had been questioned about the death.

They would not say if a murder weapon had been found, if Mr Ejupi's cause of death was known or if he had any injuries other than those to his head.

Chard has been remanded for mention in the same court on July 4.
