Courier on 1000km drug run jailed after 9kg of ice found hidden in furniture

A 1000-kilometre drug run was foiled when police stopped a courier van and uncovered more than nine kilograms of ice hidden inside furniture.

Umar Amin fronted Newcastle District Court via video link from custody on Tuesday when he was sentenced to five years and three months in jail, with three years non-parole.
