A Merseyside couple who have "been through thick and thin together" got engaged at Aintree racecourse today.
This afternoon, Jordan Paget, 27, proposed to Sarah McGuiness, 28, on the Lord Daresbury Roof on the third-day of the Grand National Festival 2023. The couple, both from Huyton, shared the magical moment in front of friends and spectators.
Jordan told the ECHO: "I thought the best option was at the Grand National - you couldn’t do it at a better place. I thought do it here while she’s dressed up and our mates are around.

"We’ve been through thick and thin together. I knew this was the girl I wanted to marry."
The surprise proposal was captured on video by the ECHO and shows Sarah wearing a mint cropped blazer with matching trousers and a stunning fascinator, with Jordan wearing pastel grey suit trousers and a tie.
In the video, you can see an emotional Sarah tearing up as Jordan gets down on one knee and the crowd later applauding when she says yes.
