A couple who were due to get married next year died in a fire at the house they were renovating to be their “forever home.”
Kieran Naylor, 33, and his fiancé, Rebecca Foster, 32, had been together for over 10 years and were preparing for their wedding in Cyprus next year, reports the Nottingham Post.
The couple were rushed to hospital when a blaze broke out at their Chesire home in the early hours of Monday 12 December, with both suffering serious injuries. Rebecca would pass away soon after she was pulled from the inferno, while Kieran lost his fight two weeks later on Boxing Day.

Earlier this week, an inquest heard that Kieran and Rebecca had planned to live out the rest of their lives in their new house with dog Skye and cat Nyla, who were “like their children”.
Grieving father John Foster paid tribute to the couple, saying “They were massively in love. They spent all their time together.”
He also added that the house had been bought in August 2021 as a project for the pair, with Kieran doing much of the work himself as a cable jointer.
Mr Foster, who lost daughter Rebecca in the blaze, described the painful process of going to the hospital after being informed she was in a critical condition.
He said: “They were keeping her hooked on machines. It was that point we knew she was going to die,” adding that hospital staff informed the family that Rebecca was “brain dead.” The family stayed with Rebecca until she passed away.
Kieran’s dad Paul also told the inquest that the couple were “inseparable” and had enjoyed their engagement in 2022 ahead of their wedding abroad in 2024. His son, Kieran, endured a gruelling battle, undergoing three major operations as he fought for his life over the course of two weeks, before eventually succumbing to his injuries.
The bereaved families have been left without answers as the inquest was unable to find the cause of the fire, deeming the property to be “unsafe”. It was found that the blaze most likely started in the first-floor lounge or the gaming room, which was under renovation.
Loving tributes were previously shared for the couple who would be "together forever". Kieran's family said: "Kieran really was the best son, brother and uncle that anyone could have wished for and he will be sorely missed by everyone who had the pleasure to have known him. Kieran and Rebecca are now reunited forever and they will always be in our hearts."
