A couple said they were left traumatised after a TUI flight in which passengers heard two loud engine bangs followed by turbulence which threw people from their seats. Tina and Leslie Driver had taken a delayed flight from Manchester Airport to Cape Verde on Monday, June 27, when the incident took place.
The care workers said they heard two 'enormous' bangs coming from one of the engines 10 minutes into the flight, reports The ECHO. The pilot of the TUI BY216 flight had then told passengers of a technical issue with the plane and that an emergency 7700 code had been sent while they would need to make an emergency landing.
Leslie from the Wirral said these weren’t the first issues they had with the aircraft. He said: "We went through check in and security completely fine, which was great considering all the queues in recent weeks.
