A mum drove her boyfriend to an Aldi car park so that he could sell a gun to a 'leading' Manchester-based gangster. Former nursery nurse Fiona Crooks even brought her six-year-old daughter along to the deal.
Police later found another loaded gun, stashed inside a Berghaus man bag, next to a pair of children's wellies in Crooks' home. Crooks and her boyfriend Vincent Horsfall, both 30, have now both been jailed, following a joint operation by Greater Manchester Police and Merseyside Police, Liverpool Echo reports.
Liverpool Crown Court heard that Horsfall bought a Colt firearm from a legitimate collector in Lancashire before selling it onwards to a Manchester-based convicted drug dealer, who cannot be named for legal reasons. Martyn Walsh, prosecuting, described how Crooks had "played her part by encouraging Horsfall to trade firearms in order to make money so they could enjoy the trappings of a luxurious lifestyle".
