A couple embroiled in a bitter seven-year-long legal battle with their neighbours after they erected a six-foot-high fence outside their front door have dubbed them 'bullies.' Gary Hambling, 48, and wife Kerry, 44, called Garry and Jenny Wakerly 'the neighbours from hell' but vowed to fight on.
And they revealed that the battle so far to remove the fence which runs along a narrow drive to the Wakerly's £1m home had cost them an estimated £160,000. The Hamblings bought their chocolate-box 17th-century semi-detached 'Garden Cottage' in Polstead, Suffolk, for £600,000 in 2015 and moved in with their three children.
A year later the Wakerlys who own a large detached house and estate next door erected a six feet (1.8m) fence along their private drive which lines the Hambling's house. This cut off access to the Hambling's front door from the drive which they claim they have legal access to, leaving just six feet between the front door and the fence.
