An Ashbourne couple got engaged in a Beauty and the Beast themed proposal at Dublin’s Bloom festival over the weekend.
Nicola McNamee said yes to Conor Carley at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre's Beauty and the Beast Musical Garden at this year's Bord Bia Bloom 2022.
Conor got on one knee at the enchanting garden after falling in love with Nicola six years ago.

The man who is originally from Dundalk, chose the garden as the couple are huge fans of the Disney favourite and he thought it was a ideal place to pop the question.
He said “It’s a perfect place to get engaged as our future is going to blossom”.
Beauty and the Beast comes to the Bord Gais Energy Theatre from November 24 to January 6, and there’s no doubt that the couple will be there.
This was the Bord Gais Energy Theatre’s first-ever theatre show garden at the Bord Bia Bloom event and it’s not just Conor who noticed the beauty of the set up, as it was also awarded a silver medal in the Garden Concept Category.
The garden played on elements of the musical, alluding to the enchanted castle’s grounds and highlighting the iconic red rose at the heart of the story.
The rose was at the centre of the garden, safely guarded under a glass dome within a pavilion surrounded by red roses. The falling rose petals in the beloved fairy tale were also represented.
The contrasting plants and colours throughout this garden reflect the colour scheme of the stage production.
The timeless romantic tale of Beauty and the Beast the Musical will be brought to life on stage like never before, with all the charm and elegance audiences expect from Belle and her Beast.
