An unidentified couple were filmed engaging in an alleged sex act during a baseball game. The footage has surfaced on social media and appeared to show a woman performing oral sex on a man while the Oakland Athletics took on the Seattle Mariners on Sunday.
Given the low attendance for the game at RingCentral Coliseum in California, the couple perhaps decided it was the perfect opportunity to have some fun in the back two rows of a stand.
Oakland’s police department were alerted and their spokesperson stated they are investigating the matter. "The Oakland Police Department was not alerted to this until after the game," Oakland Police Department Public Information Officer Candace Keas told the television station KRON4 in the Bay Area.
“We were advised that A’s staff/cameras did not capture video of this during the game. And we have initiated an investigation."
The clip has since been shared over 2 million times on social media and if the investigation finds the couple guilty, they could face serious consequences.
If charged and convicted, TMZ understands the penalty for the offence is up to 6 months behind bars and/or a fine of up to $1,000 (£848).
In the game itself, the Athletics beat the Mariners 5-3. Catcher Shea Langeliers got three hits, including Oakland's first triple after a strange 81-game drought without a three-bagger.
No team in major league history had gone longer without a triple since 1901 until Langeliers, a catcher, hit an RBI drive in the eighth inning. He had two triples this season in Triple-A.
The 24-year-old hit a drive off the left-field wall to end the spell. “I got lucky there,” he said. “It kicked really far off the wall. So I just got to keep running.”
It marked a disappointing loss to the Mariners, who had beat the Californian side convincingly in the previous two seasons.
