Officers uncovered $130,000 worth of gravestones from an Atlanta memorial park that were stolen by a pair of alleged cemetery thieves.
On Saturday (28 February), City of Atlanta Police Department Police shared bodycam footage of officers at Crest Lawn Memorial Park looking at holes left behind where grave markers and other decorations had once been.
During a search warrant on a vehicle believed to be connected to the thefts, officers uncovered various objects, including a grinding wheel used on the items to prevent identification.
The force said that the thefts occurred between 4 to 12 August, 2025, where several bronze vases, plaques and granite slabs were taken.
The two individuals were charged with Felony Theft by Taking and booked into the Fulton County Jail. They have since been released.
