County lines suspects named after police raids across Merseyside

Three men from Merseyside have been charged after police carried out a series of raids.

Early yesterday morning (Thursday, November 10), police officers conducted several raids throughout parts Merseyside, Crewe and Sandbach. Following searches at ten homes in total, two men from Liverpool and one man from Bootle were arrested, questioned and later charged.

William Gooley, 38, of Hankey Drive, Bootle, William Sutherland, 61, of Edmonton Close, Liverpool and Andrew Williams, 38, of Chirkdale Street, Liverpool were all charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs after questioning. Their charges related to alleged county lines drug dealing between Cheshire and Merseyside.

Gooley, Sutherland and Williams were remanded into custody and are set to appear at Chester Magistrates Court today (Friday, November 11).

Five other men were arrested following the raids. These being Merold Earl Stennet, 43, from Crewe, Russel Schofield, 32, from Crewe, Alexander Sinclaire, 26, also from Crewe, Shadat Kogolo, 27, from Sandbach and Daley Smith, 33, also from Sandbach.

These five men have also been charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs after questioning and will also appear at Chester Magistrates Court today. Their charges related to alleged county lines drug dealing between Cheshire and Merseyside.

A ninth person was arrested though released under investigation after questioning.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "Detectives from Cheshire Constabulary have charged eight people following a series of successful raids. Earlier today, Thursday 10 November, officers from across the force conducted searches at ten homes in Crewe, Sandbach and Merseyside.

"Nine people were arrested and following questioning, eight have been charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs. The ninth person has since been released under investigation.

"All eight were remanded into custody and are set to appear at Chester Magistrates’ Court on Friday 11 November."
