Countdown to North East Business Awards final as companies go head-to-head for top prizes

The final of this year’s North East Business Awards will take place next week, with 25 companies vying to be named the best in the region.

The awards give local businesses the opportunity to showcase their talents and highlight what makes them stand out in the business world. Winners from earlier heats in Tyneside and Northumberland; Durham, Sunderland and South Tyneside; and Teesside will go head to head in 10 categories for the overall regional prize.

Finalists in the North East Company of the Year award - last year won by Middlesbrough computer games company Double Eleven - are Newcastle Building Society, eQuality Solutions and Cleveland Containers. Other nominees include Unipres UK, Artech Lighting, Rowen Homes and Muckle LLP.

Journal editor Graeme Whitfield said: “It was great seeing the winners at our Business Awards heats earlier this year and I know that the competition will be hot next year.

“The North East Business Awards have been celebrating the best of the region’s companies for more than 20 years and it is more important than ever to celebrate the best of our businesses.”
