Council wants public views on beauty spot's proposed dog ban which carries £1,000 penalty

The Northern Ireland public are being asked for their views on a proposal to ban dogs from a natural beauty spot popular with thousands of people every year.

The coastal walk between Ballintoy and Whitepark Bay is under scrutiny after a land owner claimed uncontrolled dogs attacked livestock along the right of way.

But no evidence has been submitted to back up the claims and 50 site visits have uncovered no offences, however the proposal could potentially still become law.
