Sefton Council has issued an update on bin collections following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
Monday, September 19 marked a Bank Holiday as Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was laid to rest. Shops and businesses closed their doors to allow employees across the country to pay their respects to Britain's longest reigning monarch.
Bin collections were also postponed on Monday, with schedules moved to a different date. Sefton Council has since confirmed a number of alterations to the collection of green waste. Residents in the south of the Borough who had a green waste collection scheduled for Monday can expect to have their waste collected on Saturday, September 24.

This affects residents in Litherland, Netherton, Seaforth and Bootle. Residents in the north of the Borough including Dukes, Birkdale and Kew Ward can also expect collections on September 24.
A spokesperson for Sefton Council said: "Our waste collection crews will be working hard to ensure that collections will go ahead with the least possible disruption. Extra collections will be in place week commencing Monday, September 26 to collect green waste from all other affected areas not already listed above.
"Please present your bin for collection accordingly. We’d like to thank residents for their understanding and apologise for any inconvenience caused."
