'Couldn't be better': Manchester United fans deliver Amad loan verdict ahead of Rangers move

Supporters are generally feeling confident Manchester United have made the right choice as Amad gears up for a loan transfer to Scottish champions Rangers.

A year on from touching down at Old Trafford - in a £20million deal from Italian outfit Atalanta - the Ivorian starlet will continue his development north of the border.

Amad has only appeared once for United this season and saw a proposed temporary move to Feyenoord collapse last summer due to injury.

As the clock ticks down to Monday's 11pm deadline, the 19-year-old was attracting interest from the Championship - Derby boss Wayne Rooney was very keen - and right across Europe as United sought a January agreement.

Rangers have now won that race.

Amad has arrived in Scotland for his medical and has been sworn in by the Ibrox side as a replacement for injured Romanian forward Ianis Hagi - son of the 1990s icon Gheorghe.

Here are a selection of comments posted by United supporters on social media;

@Dan_the_united said: "Amad to anywhere he's going to play football is a good deal for me."

@IbsqneMagic posted: "Fantastic move IMO. Couldn't be any better actually."

@RowlesPaul added: "It will be a very good move for him. Should start most matches in a physical league."

@UtdSkully17 said: "Hope the loan work out for Amad as we have a star on our hands."

@AndyFleming2512 posted: "Amad to Rangers? He might as well stay with the reserves..."

@cabbs1989 added: "Great move for Amas that gets him used to the physicality of British game. It will help him develop. Hagi out injured so he should get lots of game-time. Hope he smashes it."
