Boston Celtics Las Vegas Summer League big man Mfiondu Kabengele has been among the most reliable players on both ends of the court for the 3-1 Sin City Celtics so far in the annual Nevada exhibition series so far. Is there any chance the athletic center with an outside shot and strong interior presence might be added to the team’s 2022-23 roster?
It seems likely the Canadian big man would be open to playing with the Celtics whether on a regular deal or a two way contract to prove he can help the club without adding to an already-expensive cap sheet balance. But there is also Luke Kornet already on the roster whose skill set and level overlap enough that both might not make sense.
It’s also possible other moves shake up the situation in ways we can’t yet predict.
The hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Lab” podcast got together to talk over this issue and several other related teambuilding concerns with the Boston Herald’s Mark Murphy.
Check out the clip embedded above to hear their takes on whether Kagengele and Boston make for a good fit.
