Trent Cotchin has escaped with a fine from the AFL match review officer for kicking Taylor Walker during Richmond's loss to Adelaide.
The two former club captains were involved in a fiery incident at Adelaide Oval on Saturday when Walker shoved Cotchin over the boundary line.
The Tigers midfielder then lashed out at his opponent and it prompted a furious response from Walker, who booted five goals in a match-winning display.
Cotchin was found guilty of kicking in an incident assessed as intentional contact, low impact and body contact.
The grading meant he avoided suspension and was instead fined $2000.
It leaves Cotchin free to play in Richmond's Anzac Day Eve blockbuster against red-hot Melbourne at the MCG.
In-form Demons defender Steven May is also clear to play in that match after he was fined $2000 for tripping GWS livewire Bobby Hill.
The incident was assessed as intentional contact, low impact and body contact.
