Cost of monitoring water supply up, tanker count down

NAGPUR: Standing committee chairman Prakash Bhoyar on Tuesday claimed that the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is set to bring down the number of water tankers to 194. He said the cost of a water tanker having 4,000 litre capacity has been reduced to Rs360 per trip from Rs425 per trip.

On the contrary, the proposal to increase the cost of operation and monitoring of the GPS system by 30% was approved in the standing committee meeting convened by Bhoyar on Tuesday. “Earlier it used to be Rs10.35 per trip per tanker. Now, the proposal of making it Rs15 per trip per tanker has been approved,” said Bhoyar.
