The Cosori TurboBlaze 6.0-Quart Air Fryer is the kind of air fryer that makes converts out of skeptics. It’s easy to assemble, easy to use, easy to clean, and, most importantly, does a great job with whatever function you use it for.
In a sense, it’s made a convert out of me. When it comes to the best air fryers, I favor oven-style models over the basket-style ones since they often come with a toast function (still not on offer here) and plenty of room to spread out whatever is being prepared. Plus, the insides of many basket-style air fryers use plastic in places that can leach into the food, which is certainly not the case here.
Cosori is not the most established brand, however it has delivered a quality product with the Cosori TurboBlaze 6.0-Quart Air Fryer. In fact, its biggest weakness is also one of its main strengths – its strong cooking power makes it easy to overcook food if you don’t adjust for it. There’s very little to dislike unless you’re completely opposed to the form factor. So, if you’re looking for a great air fryer, then keep this one in mind, especially since it’s relatively affordable.
Cosori TurboBlaze 6.0-Quart Air Fryer: First impressions
Out of the box, the Cosori TurboBlaze 6.0-Quart Air Fryer is essentially plug-and-play. It’s probably a good idea to wash the basket and crisper plate before using, but setup is essentially just placing the crisper plate inside the basket and plugging the air fryer into the wall.
While I wish there were some additional accessories included for versatility’s sake, that’s just me nitpicking as you can take care of most air fryer-related recipes with what’s included in the box. Plus, like any good air fryer, it comes with a recipe book to try out all the different functions.

The Cosori TurboBlaze 6.0-Quart Air Fryer has recently launched in the U.S with a list price of $119.99. It can be bought direct from Cosori or from reseller, Amazon.
While the Cosori TurboBlaze 6.0-Quart Air Fryer is plenty affordable at $119.99, it’s not exactly screaming deal. But, that’s okay. It’s still a great price for a great product. Where there’s some contention is the fact that it seems to only be available through Cosori direct. Maybe this contributes to that lower price tag, but for the time being you won’t be able to use any Amazon or Walmart gift cards to get this. Strangely, plenty of other Cosori products are available on Amazon, so maybe things will change between the time I’m writing and the time you’re reading this.

Cosori TurboBlaze 6.0-Quart Air Fryer: Design
The Cosori TurboBlaze 6.0-Quart Air Fryer doesn’t break the mold looks-wise, though it does look good in mostly matte-black. More importantly, while the outside is made of plastic, albeit a very sturdy and durable feeling plastic including the covering of the LED panel, the inside including both the basket and the part of the unit touching the basket is all metal, meaning that nothing plastic gets close to the food.
Speaking of that LED panel, it’s situated on top of the air fryer but at an angle so that it’s very accessible during use. The buttons are of the capacitive type so you’re basically touching the panel to adjust temperature, time, or cooking function. And, all the available controls are here. Though you can easily press up or down for both temp and time, it would be nice to be able to input specific times with a number pad as you can on a microwave. That said, this is typical of air fryers as there needs to be plenty of space for all the function buttons. Of course, there’s plenty of space on the top panel for more controls.
As far as cooking functions go, there are technically nine on offer: air fry, roast, bake, broil, dehydrate, frozen, proof, reheat, keep warm. They’re essentially temperature and time pre-sets. And, the frozen function seems a little redundant as you can just do 'air fry' for most frozen foods. Still, they’re very useful, especially if you’re new to air fryers and don’t quite know what temperature and time settings to use.
As far as safety features go, there’s one active one and that’s the fact that the air fryer will automatically turn off when the basket is removed. More passively, the outside of the air fryer doesn’t get that hot during use. While you should always exercise caution, you’re not likely to accidentally burn yourself touching the outside of the air fryer.

Cosori TurboBlaze 6.0-Quart Air Fryer: Performance
Like most air fryers, the Cosori TurboBlaze 6.0-Quart Air Fryer is incredibly easy to use. You just press the function you want to use, adjust the time and temperature, and press start. Cosori advertises this model to cook 46% faster than other AC-motor powered air fryers (this model uses a DC motor for those interested). While I can’t vouch for that statistic, I can say that this air fryer cooked faster than expected. Or, I should say, it is more powerful than it looks.
Whenever cooking something, if I followed the directions whether it’s to cook salmon or frozen pastries, I would regularly find my food overcooked if I didn’t shave a few minutes off the recommended cooking times.
While that’s a testament to the power of this air fryer, it’s also a pain as you can’t just follow the directions blindly with satisfying results (unless you like overcooked food). If you’re able to mentally adjust every time you cook, you do save time with the Cosori TurboBlaze 6.0-Quart Air Fryer.
As far as capacity goes, six quarts is fairly sizable, more than enough to make a decent amount of sides or even filets of salmon for a group of five to eat. And, since the basket uses a more square-ish design, you’re not as limited as other air fryers if you wanted to put a baking pan in.
As far as cleanup goes, the interior of the basket as well as the crisper plate is covered in non-stick material, so I didn’t have to worry too much about food getting stuck and I even made dehydrated mangoes. Since the basket is completely removable, it’s easy to soak it and the crisper plate to clean with soap and water, though both are dishwasher safe.

How does the Cosori TurboBlaze 6.0-Quart Air Fryer compare?
If you’re considering other air fryers, the NuWave Brio 37001 6-Quart Air Fryer is similar to the Cosori reviewed here as it’s also a powerful single-basket model with the same capacity. It has a few less functions than the Cosori, though that’s for ones that most people won’t need like Proof. The NuWave is not as sleek looking, but it does come with more accessories and isn’t much more expensive at $129.99.
There is one other feature that the Cosori is missing that you can find elsewhere and that’s a viewing window to check on food without actually pulling out the basket. Such is the case with the Cuisinart Basket Air Fryer Air-200. It doesn’t have nearly the same amount of functions on hand – four in this case – and costs a bit more at $149.95, but for some, that viewing window might be worth it.
If oven-style fryers seem to be more your speed, the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro has a somewhat comparable capacity (as comparable as they can be) and has 13 functions including the ability to toast, rotisserie and cook a pizza. Of course, it’s not as easy to clean and will set you back $399.95.

How we tested the Cosori TurboBlaze 6.0-Quart Air Fryer
To test the Cosori TurboBlaze 6.0-Quart Air Fryer, I tested most of the functions to cook salmon bites, salmon filets, a couple different vegetable sides, and even spicy dehydrated mango, as well as plenty of grab-and-go frozen pastry-type items. I was able to get a feel for how easy this air fryer is to use in the process, not to mention how easy it is to clean after the fact.
