Coronation Street cast members Harriet Bibby and James Craven have hinted there's more to their characters' surrogacy storyline – and the truth about mystery Mike and Esther.
The couple joined the soap not too long ago and, after learning Billy Mayhew's adopted daughter Summer Spellman was pregnant and wasn't sure she wanted to keep the baby, they took action.
Sharing their struggles with fertility and their desperation to have a child, they paid Summer £10,000 to hand over her offspring when they were born.
Summer agreed, but sadly she suffered a miscarriage – something she was keeping from Mike and Esther, despite taking their money.
Recent scenes saw the couple proposition Summer in exchange for her keeping the £10k – as they asked her to be their surrogate.
In a worrying turn of events, Summer has seemingly run away after dad Billy found out what was going on and confronted the couple.
Amid Summer claiming she needed time away, viewers have been fearing she is in danger – amid other predictions about Mike and Esther's true identities.
For weeks fans have been guessing the pair have yet-to-be-disclosed intentions, or that they might kill Summer – while another theory suggested Esther was her biological mother.
Now, speaking to The Mirror, actress Harriet has teased what lies ahead for Summer – while Aaron Sandford star James added there could be a twist.
Harriet told us: "Well, to be fair I love reading the fan theories. Sometimes they get it bang on the money and sometimes it is such a wild thing, like wouldn't it be cool or something like that to happen?
"Obviously we are filming a bit ahead of what everyone sees so it's nice to know maybe what the fans want to see or what they don't want to see so it is really interesting."
She added: "I think there's lots twist turns in this story. She has not had the best year and I don't think she is coping very well with everything that is happening.
"I think she is in for a bit of a ride with Esther and Mike but we'll see what happens, she had got the support of Billy, and Aaron and her other dads as well."
James also addressed the theories, adding: "Maybe Mike and Ester have other intentions but maybe not. We'll have to see."
