Corrie stars party in style at Millie Gibson's leaving do

It was a starry night in Salford as a galaxy of Coronation Street stars headed to bid farewell to their young co-star Millie Gibson at her packed leaving bash on Salford Quays. Soap favourites were pictured as they headed to The Alchemist bar on the waterside under sunny skies on Friday night in a series of glam ensembles.

Millie, who plays troubled Kelly Neelan on Corrie, donned a sophisticated long black dress and sandals as she headed to her leaving do with a host of her soap pals. That included Tanisha Gorey who plays Asha Alahan, Georgia Taylor who plays Toyah Habeeb and Colson Smith who plays PC Craig Tinker.

Also among the revellers was Adam Hussain who plays Aadi Alahan - who has sparked romance with Millie's character Kelly in recent scenes. Kellly's "father figure" of Gary Windass, aka actor Mikey North, was also spotted heading to the leaving do on Friday night.

Meanwhile Millie was joined to head into the bash by her soap mum, actress Kel Allen, who she has become great friends with away from the show since they first filmed together. Kel played Kelly's tragic mum Laura who died on the cobbles in emotional scnes earlier this year.

Millie, 18, has been a huge hit since joining the show two years ago as Kelly. And in June she won a prestigious British Soap Award for Best Newcomer for her work on the soap.

Her character has been embroiled in some of the show's most dramatic ever scenes since arriving as the troubled teen tearaway. That included her part in the horrifying assault of Seb Franklin in the soap's hate crime storyline and ensuing dramatic court case.

But the soap's stars cast their character's dramas to one side as they partied in style at The Alchemist for Millie's farewell bash. Tanisha, who plays Kelly's confidante Asha, wore a stunning outfit for the evening, teaming a golden corset style top with flared white jeans.

She was spotted carrying a Selfridges bag that appeared to contain a leaving card and present from cast to present to Millie at the bash. Once inside the popular bar, the revels soon headed out to the balcony which boasts stunning views across the Quays and to Media City.

And as a crowd of fans gathered outside the bar, many of the soap stars also stopped to have a photo with fans on their way in. That include Kel Allen, and Mikey North who was pictured looked very debonair in a stylish black printed shirt teamed with casual beige chinos and loafers.

Georgia Taylor, who plays the soap's Toyah Habeeb, was also in stylish summer chic - wearing a glam black jumpsuit, platform sandals and oversized sunnies as she headed to the party. Her soap sister, actress Jane Danson who plays Leanne Battersby, also looked summery in a pretty green dress.

Georgia shared a series of photos from inside the bash from the stunning balcony at The Alchemist. In the post she said: "Celebrating our queen @MillieGibbo last night".

Also heading along to the bash was the soap's young star Alex Bain. Alex, who plays Corrie's Simon Barlow, looked in high spirts as he joked with pals along the Quays.

He wore a rock 'n' roll ensemble of printed shirt teamed with a denim studded jacket, teamed with skinny jeans and sneakers.

Also joining the revels was the soap's Shelley King who plays Yasmeen Habeeb, who walked arm-in-arm with her partner Trilby James. Actress Mollie Gallagher, who has won huge acclaim for her role as Nina Lucas, headed along in a slogan crop top teamed with pencil skirt and biker boots.

Soap fans have been worried that Millie's character may also soon meet a tragic end like her soap mum. She is believed to have filmed her final scenes, which will air in the Autumn, and spoiler pics revealed earlier this month that she will apparently be kidnapped in traumatic scenes.

Last month the teen was left panic-stricken as she was held prisoner in a darkened cellar after her good intentions went dangerously wrong. Unbeknown to her guardians Maria and Gary Windass, Kelly had been using the cash that belonged to her late dad to put right his wrongs.

She was seen trying to return the money to the people he ripped off over the years. Corrie fans suspected this was the case months ago when the school girl was presented with a bag of cash Gary found while cleaning her dad's former house.

Unwilling to stop despite Gary and friend Aadi Alahan's pleas, Kelly was seen calling at a house and introduces herself as Rick Neelan’s daughter.

As she hands Ross an envelope full of cash, she explains that she’s trying to make up for her dad's wrongdoing. That didn't deter Kelly and despite a dramatic showdown with Gary, Kelly ultimately seals her own fate by ignoring his words and meeting up with one of Rick’s old cronies.

But in shock scenes, Kelly was captured by one of her dad’s evil old clients, Kieron, and she was seen left locked in a cellar, terrified that her days were numbered. Luckily for her, Gary came to her rescue. But it wasn't long before Gary was knocked to the ground by Kieron with a crowbar.

After he came back around, a violent fight ensued and it was left to Kelly to help, picking up the crowbar and knocking the kidnapper unconscious. But Gary's rage continued and Kelly begged him to stop before they escaped the room. They have since been living their life as normal, with Kelly still unaware that it was Gary who killed her dad three years ago.

Earlier this month Millie shared some teasers from filming during a night shoot. She shared pictures on her Instagram stories between scenes after she was left awestruck by a bright full moon on Friday (August 12) and also uploaded a video on location.

"The camera did it more justice than my iPhone," she wrote before adding: "Perks of a night shoot."

She was spotted filming at the Holiday Inn Express in Leigh Sports Village, donning a pink mini dress with her blonde locks styled into waves. The Weatherfield resident is seemingly in trouble when a gang grabs her on a night out.

She is seen screaming and struggling with a hand over her mouth, as she is brutally accosted by the group of men. She is then seen being dragged into a darkened van and Corrie viewers will be left wondering if anyone will come to her rescue in time.

Rumours of Millie's exit from Corrie came after ITV teased what is to come on the famous street as it revealed what is to come on the network over the autumn. Corrie has teased that family matters will dominate the coming months with returning relatives, couples in crisis and shocking secrets causing chaos on the cobbles.

The clock has been ticking for Gary Windass ever since he took in the teenage daughter of the man he murdered. Increasingly seeing Gary as a father figure, Kelly Neelan was left further indebted to Gary when he rescued her from the clutches of dad Rick’s shady associates in scenes aired in July.

But having witnessed how far Gary is willing to go to keep her safe, Kelly starts to wonder if he has crossed that line before. Meanwhile, Gary’s wife Maria continues to struggle with the unwanted online attention her council work has brought and Gary is determined to protect her.

But Is Gary’s past about to catch up with him? Soap fans will have to wait and see how all this one is going to play out in the coming weeks.
