Corrie stars enjoy work night out as Alison King and Jack P Shepherd compete in bowling

Coronation Street stars have proved they can enjoy a bit of down time as they were photographed at a local bowling alley.

The ITV soap's cast took a break from filming on the Cobbles in favour of a spot of bowling and posed for photos to share their trip with fans.

One big group snap sees Alison King, who plays Carla Connor, Chris Gascoyne, who plays Peter Barlow and Jack P Shepherd, who plays David Platt, posing with bowling balls at the front of the group photo.

Meanwhile Rob Mallard, who plays David Osbourne, Millie Gibson, who plays Kelly Neelan, Max Turner actor Paddy Bever, Jane Danson, who portrays Leanne Battersby and Craig Tinker star Colson Smith gathered amongst more stars from the soap for the same snap.

Julia Goulding, who also featured in the large group snap, shared the photo on her Instagram page and gushed over the special night out to her 126,000 followers.

The 37-year-old actress, who is expecting her second child with Ben Silver, wrote in the caption: "What a fun, beautiful night with this gorgeous lot! The little bowling ball and I had a great time," referring to her blossoming bump which she first revealed at the Soap Awards earlier this month.

She also posted the image on her Instagram story and wrote: "Lovely night chucking balls around with this gorgeous lot!"

Pregnant Julia, who plays Shona Platt, also took the opportunity to gather her onscreen family members David Platt actor Jack and his on-screen adoptive son Max for a group photo.

As she posted the snap on her Instagram story, she wrote: "Little family pic from our bowling trip".

Julia wasn't the only actor to share pictures from the work gathering, as David Platt actor Jack, 34, posted a video of himself showing off his bowling skills. In the clip the soap star is seen opening his legs and standing with his back towards the bowling alley as he chucks a ball through his legs.

Turning to the camera after it took out a pin, Jack said: "Take it. Take it."

Elsewhere during the evening, Toyah Battersby actress Georgia Taylor cuddled up to Millie Gibson for a quick snap. The image sees the pair looking at the camera and smiling as they hold their arms around one another.

Later, 42-year-old Georgia posed with Paddy Bever as they sat infant of a graffiti wall lit up in neon lights.

Finally, cast members Millie, 18, and Tanisha Gorey, who plays Asha Alahan, stood together for a sweet selfie on the outing.

As the Kelly Neelan actress shared the image on her Instagram story, she wrote: "@tanisha_gorey Works bowling night" followed by an emoji of a hand gesturing a chef's kiss.

The outing comes ahead of a busy week on Coronation Street as Fizz prepares to wed her fiance Phill Whittaker, the pair's nuptials risk being disrupted.

Fizz and Phill are confronted by his ex-wife Camilla as they bump into one another on the cobbles, meanwhile Tyrone Dobbs admits he still has feelings to Fiz – but will he be too late?
