A shocking death

Coronation Street says goodbye to a beloved character next week on the ITV soap in a heartbreaking death.

Ahead of an exit of sorts for one resident, there's tears in store when a much-loved character is killed off - and another character is blamed for their demise.

Evelyn Plummer is left distraught next week, when her beloved dog Cerberus suddenly falls ill and is rushed to the vets.

The character gets some worrying news about his condition, before finding out the cause of Cerberus' ill health.

Just as Evelyn confronts Roy Cropper, blaming him for what has happened, tragedy strikes.

Poor Cerberus dies next week, ahead of Evelyn departing the Cobbles - with actress Maureen Lipman taking a break from the show to focus on a brand new role.

Stephen strikes again?

Stephen Reid could murder his third victim next week (ITV)

Stephen Reid could murder his third victim next week, amid him drugging Carla Connor.

He could be forced to cover his tracks once more as someone threatens to expose his wicked behaviour and his recent lies.

Spoilers for next week see Stephen about to attack a character with the same weapon he used earlier this year, when he murdered Teddy Thompkins.

If he does strike again, it will be his third kill after he murdered Teddy's son Leo back in September.

Paul's health concern

Paul Foreman sees his health condition worsening (ITV)

Coronation Street fan favourite Paul Foreman sees his health condition worsening as he exhibits scary symptoms next week on the ITV soap.

Paul was in a freak accident on the cobbles when Carla Connor ploughed into him on a motorbike while she was driving the Underworld van.

Paul was knocked off the bike, but managed to stand up and seemed in good health as he was taken to the Weatherfield hospital for check-ups.

The doctors told Paul he was fine, however, the character has since developed symptoms indicating he could have done more damage than first anticipated.

Paul’s injuries remain a mystery as he cannot gain control over his hand. The neurologist tells Paul that he’s sending him for further scans but the problems he’s experiencing are unlikely to have been caused by the accident.

Affair twist?

Coronation Street spoilers may have identified who has their head turned by Damon Hay (ITV)

Coronation Street spoilers may have identified who has their head turned by Damon Hay in an explosive affair plot this summer.

It was revealed by soap boss Iain MacLeod that a high profile female character would be won over by Damon, resulting in a fling with catastrophic consequences.

Now, new spoilers for next week reveal Sarah Platt gets closer to the baddie seemingly having no idea who he is.

Despite his recent drama with her brother Nick Tilsley, the pair have a drink and it isn't long before he's heading up to her hotel room.

It's not clear if anything happens between them, amid her marriage to Adam Barlow hitting the rocks.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
