Coronation Street's Sarah Barlow was recently left fuming when her husband Adam bought her an unromantic present for her birthday.
Fans of the ITV soap saw Sarah hit the roof as her suave hubby told her he had bought her a top of the range oven.
And Corrie star Tina O'Brien, who has played Sarah since 1999, has revealed that the gaffe was actually inspired by someone at work.

"It was based on a true story," she told the Mancheser Evening News and other press.
"I won't say who but somebody at our work, this is where this came from, did that for their wife, and it obviously didn't go down very well and that’s how it ended up in the story."
Sarah said about the embarrassing moment for her character: "Sarah thinks 'he just doesn't get me, he got me an oven for my birthday, I just don't feel that's very romantic present or a very thoughtful present.'"
The unwanted gift is now the least of Adam's worries after his stalker Lydia Chambers claimed they had been having an affair.
Rather than siding with Adam, her new best friend Sarah believes her.
Tina also let slip that she too once received an awkward present.
She recalled: "I got a tea making machine but a tea making machine that was the same machine that was at work,” she recalled.
"It was like 'look, you can have the same tea.'
"'You put the pod in and have the same cup at home as you do at work' and I was like 'oh no.'"
