Coronation Street favourite Tina O'Brien proudly shared a rare post about fellow actress daughter Scarlett as she revealed that the 14-year-old rising star has undergone a hair transformation. The doting mum-of-two couldn't resist sharing her pride in Waterloo Road star Scarlett as she headed to the salon for her first colour treatment.
She shared video clips of Scarlett before her makeover and her hair in foils as she linked to stylist Kia Styles' page. She captioned the clips on her Instagram Stories: "My little lady getting all grown up (I don't post often about my S&B. I'll ony post what they are happy to share and is comfortable for them.)"
And @kia_styles_of Boombae Salon at Trafford Park shared Tina's comment with the words: "When the mammy loves it as much as he baby girl your doing something right." On Kia's Instagram page she shared behind-the-scenes at the salon as brunette Scarlett went in for a 'big change' and went blonde with a balayage treatment and babylights, delicate and natural highlights that blend with the natural base color.

Kia wrote: "I had the pleasure of colouring @scarlettjthomas26 hair for the first time EVER. She wanted a big change today. I decided to do a mix of balayage & babe lights & micro face frame to add some brightness & softness, along with some bangs & a trim."
She added: "How gorgeous is she. Let’s see if blondes have more fun." And the compliments came pouring in over the new look for Scarlett, who received high praise for her role as Izzy Charles the daughter of Donte Charles played by her real-life uncle Adam Thomas in the rebooted BBC One school drama when it returned to screens earlier this year.
Lisa Smales said: "Stunning hair for a stunning talented young lady x." Gem said: "Unreal." And Debbie Marsden praised: "BOOOOOMMMMMM, this is absolutely beautiful. The colours are so natural & the cut wow just wow."
Scarlett's cousin Teddy, eight, also stars in Waterloo Road as her brother Tommy. Former Emmerdale actor Adam, who went on to play Adam Barton on the ITV soap for almost 10 years, said he felt very lucky' to be back playing Donte alongside his family.
He said it's 'magic' how things have turned out and that he hoped the return of Waterloo Road would kickstart his son Teddy and niece Scarlett's careers. 'It's just a dream come true the fact that Scarlett and Teddy get to start their career off on the same show that I did many moons ago, it's just unbelievable, it's full circle, it's magic how life works out," Adam said.
Tina, who has played Sarah Platt since 1999, is currently at the centre of the drama on the ITV soap. Married Underworld manager Sarah slept with smarmy drug dealer Damon Hay at a hotel after a business meeting.
Thinking that he would be going to prison, she ended their liaison. But she was stunned when Damon, who was represented in court by her solicitor husband Adam Barlow, gleefully returned to Weatherfield a free man.
The pair continued to flirt as he celebrated being acquitted, but Sarah put her foot down and said she wanted to concentrate on her marriage to Adam. She then went home and slept with Adam, saying she wants a baby with her hubby, leaving fans wondering if a 'who's the daddy?' storyline could be ahead.
In 2021 Tina posted a video on her Instagram of talented Scarlett singing the Freya Ridings tearjerker Lost Without You, and her followers were floored by her voice. Tina shared the video with the words: "She’s going to probably kill me for posting this but I’m so proud of her and her beautiful voice. I could listen to her sing 24hrs a day.
"The sound is bad, we’re in the kitchen with the dogs and the tumble dryer. But still I think she’s amazing considering she’s just singing here for fun nothing planned or organised and only 12 years old."
Scarlett is Tina's daughter with her ex Ryan Thomas, who played Jason Grimshaw in Corrie. Tina also has an eight-year-old son Beau with her husband Adam Crofts.
