Coronation Street newcomer Stephanie Davis has teased there could be more to her character's arrival on the Cobbles, amid theories of a secret link to another new character.
Former Hollyoaks actress Steph will play new character Courtney Vance on the ITV soap, with her set to debut later this month.
The star hasn't even been on screen yet in her new role, but she revealed she's already been inundated with messages regarding a possible twist.
While Courtney is entering the show as part of a huge summer storyline with her husband Darren Vance, the actress revealed some fans have questioned whether she is linked to someone else on the street.
Courtney will be caught up in big scenes with Dev Alahan and his son Aadi, but fans are apparently speculating she could be the secret daughter of another Weatherfield resident.
Explaining the messages she had received on social media, Stephanie spilled that several people have asked her if Courtney is related to Claire Sweeney's new character Cassie Plummer.
Cassie recently joined the show as the estranged daughter of Evelyn Plummer, and the biological mother of Tyrone. Steph revealed that due to both her and co-star Claire being from Liverpool, people have asked her whether Courtney will turn out to be the secret daughter of Cassie.
The actress didn't exactly rule the idea out though, hinting it was possible and that Courtney could be linked to the fellow newcomer.
Speaking to press recently, Stephanie said: "I've had so many messages because Claire’s [joining] and cos [we’re both Scouse] and they’ve said, 'this is it, I know what it is, you're going in as her daughter,' trying to put the dots together. I'm reading it like this is all good. Who knows, we'll have to wait and see."
Stephanie also teased what fans can expect from the new character, as she shared her hopes to stick around on the ITV soap.
She explained: "There's definitely loads of layers there. I can tell by how she is, she references her mum in some scenes. Only little references but you can tell she's not had a great life.
"She's met Darren, he has loads of money and she has probably settled for that for a good lifestyle, but there is no love there. Courtney in nutshell is longing to be loved."
She added: "I would love to see her stick around. There are so many different layers to explore there with her and she certainly makes herself at home straight away, so I would love to see her stick around."
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
