Coronation Street's Sarah Platt took payback against Lydia Chambers on the ITV soap on Wednesday night, as the shocking truth was revealed.
The character proved to Lydia she had messed with the wrong couple, as she called the police on her after finding out what she'd done.
Her husband Adam Barlow was rushed to hospital and nearly died, after being pushed off a balcony by ex Lydia during a row.
He had tried to get her to confess to setting him up with a fake affair and harassment claims, after Sarah kicked him out.
Sarah even asked for a divorce believing he had cheated on her with Lydia, and that her claims of him targeting her were also correct.
As Adam tried to get the confession on his phone Lydia rumbled him, before a chase ensued around the shopping mall.
Lydia let rip at him over his treatment of her years ago and Adam was left feeling momentarily guilty - but when he told her she should tell Sarah the truth, Lydia grew angrier than ever.
She confessed that he had cheated on her all the way through their romance, and when she herself fell pregnant with his baby he told her to get an abortion, which she did in secret.
Just as things appeared to calm down, his pleas for her to tell Sarah the truth led to Lydia pushing him, and he toppled over the balcony.
While Sarah didn't initially visit him on Wednesday night, she soon decided to check in on him only to find Lydia in the hospital room.
Adam and Lydia were discussing the events with him agreeing not to tell the police, and apologising for his past actions.
Sarah chased Lydia out of the room when she demanded to speak to her, and it's then that Lydia finally confessed she had made everything up - from the affair, to hotel visits and even him trashing her flat.
Lydia explained their past to her and apologised for how she treated Sarah, promising to leave them alone for good.
But as Sarah asked her to get her some water, she secretly called the police and they soon arrived to take Lydia away.
As Lydia realised what had happened, Sarah smirked and walked away while telling her: "If you're looking for sympathy, you'll find it in the dictionary between shame and syphilis."
Adam came to Lydia's rescue though at the end of the episode, and decided to lie about the fall so that Lydia can be freed - leading to her exit from the show.
