Jack James Ryan has paid tribute to his co-star on Coronation Street as she exits the soap.
The actor - who plays Jacob Hay on the ITV soap - was one of many who congratulated Lucy Avison, who played Chloe Pearson for nine episodes on the show, as she revealed she was departing the programme after her storyline came to an end.
Chloe was the social worker assigned to Abi's son Alfie Franklin as the mechanic fought for custody with Imran Habeeb and Toyah Battersby over the little one, after the surprise baby arrived following Abi's one night stand with Imran.
Taking to Twitter, actress Lucy wrote: "Hey folks! Just letting you know that tonight is my last appearance as Chloe Pearson @itvcorrie I had such a wonderful experience, what started as one episode became nine!!!
"I am so looking forward to seeing what comes next and forever grateful for the opportunity xx."
Jack was quick to reply to her post, telling her she was "brilliant".
"You’ve been brilliant Lucy x," he wrote, whilst one fan added: "Good luck for the future, Lucy! Judging by the end of Wednesday’s episode, Chloe’s services may be required again sooner than later!"
A third shared: "You were brilliant. I hope you get to come back but I don’t want Abi and Kevin to have any more problems."
"You’ve played her so well. Great work and good luck with whatever comes next," a fourth added, with a fifth writing: "You’ve been great Lucy! Wishing you the best for what comes next."
Abi has been supported by partner Kevin Webster as she desperately tried to get her son Alfie back. She was involved in a court case, where Imran had lied and said Abi was still doing drugs, when she had stopped.
Actress Sally Carman has insisted she is hopeful Abi will get her happy ending after all the heartbreak she's been through.
During a recent chat on This Morning, she added: "She needs to get a grip! She does. It’s time, isn’t it? She has to try harder. I think maybe there’s a happy ending on the horizon? I don’t know, can’t say any more."
