Coronation Street's Gary Windass could finally be exposed next week, as his killer secret unravels.
As some news leaves him fearing that the body of his victim Rick Neelan could be discovered, Rick's ex Laura makes a shocking discovery.
Laura and her daughter Kelly have questioned where Rick could be after he vanished in 2019, with viewers and few residents aware that Gary killed him.
It was self-defence as loan shark Rick was about to murder him first, but Gary, after burying his body, kept the death to himself.
He then became a villain of sorts himself before changing his ways, but now the past is returning to haunt him.
Next week, Laura continues the search for missing Rick with the help of a private investigator, much to Gary's horror.
But things escalate when the investigator suggests to Laura there is only one explanation for his disappearance.
He suggests Rick is dead, and it's highly likely the killer is Gary - which fans know to be true.
It all kicks off when the private investigator asks Gary some difficult questions about his dealings with Rick.
Gary squirms as he tries to hide his dark past, but his attention is soon diverted when he spots Laura knocking back wine with her medication.
It leads to Laura and Kelly clashing, with Gary soon stepping in to try and sort things out.
Laura asks Gary to consider becoming Kelly's legal guardian, as he's more of a dad to her than Rick ever was - amid Laura's illness.
Meanwhile, things take a worrying turn when Gary's partner Maria shares the new site for County’s training ground, and he's forced to make a confession.
After her latest campaign saw the decision made that the grounds would be moved, she is horrified when Gary admits it’s the spot he moved Rick’s body to from the woods.
Gary soon tells a worried Maria he plans to move Rick’s body again, as he can't keep it where it is knowing works are going to be done there.
At the same time, Laura gets some shocking news when the private investigator tells her he’s had no success in tracking down Rick.
He adds that all the evidence suggests Rick is dead and the prime suspect is Gary leaving Laura mortified.
Gary begins his plan to get the body away from the site, but he's thwarted by a security guard meaning he has to flee.
He soon returns and contemplates his fate, just as Laura confronts him about what she's been told.
With the pressure getting to him, will Gary end up confessing to Rick's murder or will he work out a cover story?
