Corrie's Fiz is proposed to tonight as she grows closer to Tyrone amid Phill's secret

Coronation Street's Fiz will be proposed to tonight - as she grows closer to Tyrone after splitting from Phill.

During Monday's instalment of the soap, Tyrone continued to grow suspicious of Phill and what secret he has been hiding - when it is finally revealed that Phill has been working on a true crime book about Fiz's ex John Stape.

Devastated, and worried about her daughter Hope - who went on a digger rampage after finding out about her dad - an angry Fiz decided it would best for her to head back and check on her child as she learned the truth.

At the end of the episode, she was seen getting close to Tyrone again as she stayed over at his - with him on the sofa - and told Phill she would be splitting from him and moving out of their new home.

But on tonight's show, Tyrone and Phill are caught in a huge row as he goes around to collect Fiz's things from Phill's house. However, the argument turns physical and the pair end up losing their balance and falling into wet cement.

A panicked Phill says he's lost an engagement ring, which is found by Tyrone.

Phill then decides to get down on one knee and asks Fiz to marry him - but will she say yes?

Actor Alan Halsall recently admitted the concrete scenes were particularly tough as it was a "freezing cold day".

"I can't say I was excited and looking forward to it. It was a freezing cold day in Didsbury, to be wet through in a garden somewhere wasn't a great deal of fun," he said.

"But what we've tried to do in these little moments is to have a lot of fun with it, to really put a smile on the audience's faces... I think it's just a really nice picture of this 6'4" guy and this 5'7" guy scrapping it out, the first time with an inflatable unicorn and sword and this time in wet concrete.

"It’s quite silly and I think people have appreciated that bit of humour in what is actually quite a sad situation of a a family break up and people trying to move on with their lives and find love. To have that comedy is classic Corrie."
