Corrie's emotional Imran discovers he's the father of Abi's baby ahead of exit

Coronation Street's Imran Habeeb discovers big news on the ITV soap next week, as Abi Franklin drops a bombshell.

Abi was stunned to learn she was pregnant and in labour in a recent episode, unaware she was carrying her fourth child.

The baby boy remains in hospital and in need of special care after his premature birth, while Abi made the devastating decision to do a runner.

In upcoming scenes though, Abi will fight to keep her baby and it leads to Imran finding out he's the father.

Abi and Imran had a fling in September, while no one knows it was Imran that Abi had the one-night stand with.

When news of Abi's baby arrival reaches Weatherfield next week, it doesn't take long for Imran to suspect he might be the dad.

As he races to the hospital in secret to confront Abi, she confirms the truth leaving him emotional.

She reveals Imran is the father, not her husband Kevin Webster, leading to Imran asking to see his son.

He can't hold back his emotions as the pair talk about the little one, only to spot Imran's partner Toyah watching from the corridor.

Toyah has been helping Abi, unaware that her partner slept with her last year - or that he is the dad of little Alfie.

So when she spots an emotional Imran speaking with Abi, will she finally work out the truth?

Imran could easily blurt out that he's the dad if his emotions take over, or perhaps he will decide to keep it a secret for longer.

Either way, the character is set to bow out of the ITV soap at some point according to reports.

Actor Charlie de Melo joined the ITV soap in 2017 and has played lawyer Imran ever since.

But The Sun has reported that he has now decided look beyond the cobbles for new challenges.

The media outlet reported that a source close to the soap actor said that while Charlie had "loved his time on the soap", he believes that now "the time is right to try new things."

They continued to say that Charlie will "cherish" the time he has spent in Corrie, but he is "hugely talented and very ambitious and wants to see what else is out there."
