She won hearts on the Coronation Street cobbles as unlucky-in-love barmaid Emma Brooker, and bride-to-be Alexandra Mardell will soon have a major starring role in real life as she walks down the aisle. Alexandra, whose character waved goodbye to Weatherfield almost a year ago after going through a turbulent time but finally finding a soulmate in Jon Spear, beamed as she enjoyed some pamper time with her look-alike mum Janet for Mother's Day ahead of her wedding.
"All ready for the weekend! Weekend mode on," declared Alexandra on Instagram as she relaxed at city centre beauty salon and celeb hotspot House of Evelyn. And with a photo of the ladies beaming for the camera she wrote: "Ready for our pre Mother's Day pampers."
The former Corrie star, who was crowned winner of the 2022 Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special, showed off her gleaming new nails, and her sparkling engagement ring, in an 'after' photo. She looked super-stylish in a baker boy cap as she put her feet up.

On her first major role after leaving Corrie, Alexandra recently returned to our screens in the ITV sitcom The Family Pile. The show tells the story of four sisters - Nicole, Ursula, Yvette and Gaynor - who, in the aftermath of their parents’ deaths, prepare to sell their childhood home.
In April 2021 In April Alexandra celebrated her engagement after boyfriend of three years Joe Parker popped the question. The actress was all smiles as she revealed the news on Instagram.
She announced: "Love locked down!! 1000000 times yes! You make me so happy, my face hurts! Love you ridiculously. Future Mrs Parker," she continued alongside a diamond ring emoji. Last month she shared a collection of photos from her sun-soaked hen do.
The snaps included the actress wearing a 'The Future Mrs Parker' veil. Another showed Alexandra looking stunning in an all-white outfit including a feathery top and flared white trousers as she held up an 'I do!' slogan clutch bag.
Alexandra joined Coronation Street in April 2018 and made a huge impression on viewers during her four years in the soap. She was at the centre of some huge storylines, including finding out that soap legend Steve McDonald was her biological dad.
Her character Emma met her man Jon through highly unusual circumstances when she attended the funeral of his grandfather Ted, who she and best pal Faye Windass accidentally ran down during a driving lesson on New Year's Day. After the accident the girls found him dead at his flat when they went to check on him and left him for his grandson to find.
Emma feared she would lose her beau when he finally found out the truth. But just as she thought they were over, Jon forgave her and insisted that he still wanted to move away with Emma to start a new life in Australia after they had fallen head over heels in love.
