Coronation Street fans are convinced there is a huge twist due after Stu's murder confession.
Fans of the ITV soap were shocked when Stu's ex-wife arrived on the Cobbles and had some huge news to reveal to Yasmeen - that Stu was involved in some sort of murder and death involving some girl. Understandably, Yasmeen was left reeling by the admission and since, Stu has been struggling to cope with all that's going on and has turned to drink.
In sad scenes yesterday, Stu hit out at Kelly as she tried to support him with everything was going on, but viewers tuning in are sure there's a hidden twist yet to come and that Stu is actually innocent.
One fan wrote on Twitter : "Stu definitely didn't do it think he covered for someone," whilst another added: "I believe Stu is innocent, there's more to this story surely.. looking forward to seeing more of it unfold."
"I reckon his daughter killed her and he covered for her like any parent would," a third shared, as a fourth penned: "#Corrie I think Stu believed his daughter killed that girl & confessed to protect her."
A fifth wrote: "Do you think Stu did commit murder or was he protecting his daughter who might of done it?"
Fans are sure Bridget is somehow involved, and with Stu trying to reconnect with his daughter recently, viewers are sure the plot will tie together neatly and he will eventually be exonerated for his crimes.
"Stu definitely never done it. Probably his daughter did," a fan shared, whilst another mused that Bridget was to blame or Stu's ex-wife, adding that he helped to cover up their crime: "Stu’s ex wife or daughter found out about the affair and one of them killed the girl and he knows it so admitted to the crime to protect them."
Another suggested: "Stu's daughter killed Charlie when she discovered the affair and he confessed to cover for her," whilst one other fan mused: "Is Stu covering taking the blame for daughter Bridget?"
It comes after actor Bill Fellows teased there will be some huge "twists and turns" to come yet in Stu's storyline.
He said: "When [producer] Iain MacLeod first told me the storyline, I thought it was a great storyline and I liked the twist.
"He then told me that Stu had been in prison for 27 years which surprised me and he told me that Stu had had an affair with a young waitress when he was married and had a child at home and that was a surprise too!"
