Coronation Street fans were left in tears on Wednesday when Evelyn Plumber had to put her greyhound Cerberus to sleep after he fell ill but eagle-eyed fans suspect there's more to this heartbreaking story.
Earlier in the week, Evelyn ( Maureen Lipman ) paid friend Roy Cropper (David Neilson) a visit at his cafe with her trusted canine sidekick by her side.
The pair chatted while Cerberus took a look behind Roy's counter before Evelyn called on him to return and the pair headed home.
