Corrie fans say Hope 'needs exorcist not therapist' after troubled antics ignored

Coronation Street viewers made their thoughts known during Monday's episode of the soap, as a therapist said troubled Hope Stape's behaviour was not as serious as it seems.

During the Monday scenes, an upbeat Fiz discussed Hope’s recent antics with Evelyn and said that Hope’s therapist thinks her behaviour has just been that of a mischievous child, as opposed to something more sinister.

However, Evelyn was not convinced by this conclusion - and neither were Coronation Street viewers tuning in.

Fans took to Twitter to describe Hope as "evil" after she hid her cousin in her loft in order to upset their families, and even kept him hidden as the search party and police looked.

One social media user said: "Hope really knows how to work her psychiatrist and pull the wool over her eyes. #Corrie #CoronationStreet"

Another fan wrote: "#Corrie best not believe anything Hope says!"

But Tyrone could be headed on a collision course with Hope after her recent antics, despite the therapist's suggestion.

Later on Monday night, Tyrone steeled himself to discuss the matter with ex Fiz and suggested that there is more to Hope’s behavioural problems than they first thought.

While the therapist reported that Hope showed she can feel empathy, Tyrone replied: "I'm really proud she's always setting fires and pretending 10-year-olds are going missing."

Fiz replied defensively saying: "There hasn't been a fire for months!"

He then said that they should seek out a proper diagnosis for her troubled behaviour, saying: "There's something wrong in there."

He added: "I'm not saying the therapy isn't helping - maybe we can find out what it is, put a name to it."

Coronation Street viewers took to Twitter to praise the move, with one writing: "Tyrone coming to the conclusion that Hope needs help - hurrah us viewers have been saying it for ages #Corrie"

Another said: "#Corrie Hasn't been a fire for months, erm.. Not really a huge achievement Fiz. Normal kids aren't arsonists!"

Another wrote: "Tyrone finally realising that Hope needs help. It's taken him this long to work it out #Corrie"

A fourth wrote: "Fiz - she's not going to grow out of it! Wake up and smell the cobbles #corrie"

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
