Coronation Street fans were fuming at firestarter Hope Stape in Coronation Street as she was caught weasel-handed after accusing Peanut the dachshund of biting her. After the twisted 12-year-old cried wolf and said the adorable dog had attacked her, her parents Fiz and Tyrone Dobbs backed her up and told her that Peanut might have to be put down.
In Wednesday night's episode (February 1) she was exposed of her lies when her adoptive dad Tyrone caught Hope sneaking out of the backyard carrying David’s stuffed weasel from the barber shop, and he worked out that he had used its teeth to mark herself. For once, Hope straight-up admitted her lie and said it was in revenge suspecting that Peanut had killed her pet chinchilla, Cilla.
Tyrone and Fiz gave Hope a telling off before apologising to Peanut's owner Beth Sutherland and her husband Kirk. But just as you might have thought Hope had learned her lesson from her evil act, there was a twist when Beth confronted her in the street about almost losing her dog because of her cruel accusation.

And Hope stunned Beth when she spat back: "You should be apologising to me too. My Cilla is dead. Your stupid little dog is still alive." The camera cut away as Beth, played by Lisa George, gazed angrily at Hope.
The dog drama picked up later as Hope came home in tears and revealed that Beth had slapped her in the face. Fiz and Tyrone confronted Beth again over Hope’s allegation as Beth denied she did anything of the sort.
However, some fans reckon that Beth did strike out after she flipped with David Platt in the salon earlier for spilling a conditioning treatment over her.
@pam_debeauvoir tweeted: "Hope, the girl who cried wolf....but this time she could actually be telling the truth." And @JamieTVandNews wrote: "Yeah, I think Beth did do it."
@theypd suspected: "Beth's done this like." @TJScaverton said: "Why do I actually believe Hope about Beth slapping her." And @k_heyrab wrote: "Hope could be telling the truth this time but she has told fibs so many time." And @itzzzo_fumed: "If Beth didn't do it then she should've done, it's least Hope deserves."
But @MeeshyJay thinks she's lying again and tweeted: "Hope the firestarting little murderer wouldn’t know what the truth was if it slapped her in the face." @tellyaddict40 echoed: "Hope needs locking up, same old nonsense."
@MeeshyJay warned: "Beth better watch her back around Hope." And @VampLover27 raged: "Omg Hope you lying s***... That’s Beth getting arrested then."
Meanwhile other fans asked the whereabouts of Tyrone's daughter Ruby while all of this was going on. @Kathlee53178282 asked: "Surely doesn't Ty suppose to protect Ruby, he continues to ignore her in favour of Hope."
@Labona36759024 pointed out: "No Ruby in sight as usual." And @MeeshyJay asked: "Writers can you please tell us where Ruby is while all this Beth business is going on? You know, his actual biological child Instead Tyrone is spending all his time on Hope as usual."
