Coronation Street boss Iain MacLeod has teased the end to the soap's current far-right extremism plot, revealing there could be redemption ahead for one character.
Max Turner will finally see what racist Griff and his extremest group are really like, and the horrors he has previously missed due to being manipulated by them.
Max was groomed by Griff and his far-right gang a few months ago, who targeted Max after he was bullied at school when he lost his place at Weatherfield High.
Things escalated recently with a bomb threat, with Max finally wanting to do the right thing and help residents to safety.
Max will unintentionally leave his father David Platt in a deadly showdown with evil Griff next week as a result, but it seems there is more to come.
Speaking to The Mirror and other press recently, Iain spilled all on what was ahead for the teenager and the plot, amid exit rumours.
On the conclusion to the far-right storyline, he told us: "It will reach its climax in the first couple of months of the year.
"Over the course of 2023 Max will discover the error of his ways, and what we are doing after that is about him being deprogrammed and un-brainwashed and there's redemption on the horizon after what he's been through. The aftereffects will last for a very long time."
Of Spider's link to the plot, he added: "Spider has a part to play in unknitting it all at the end... he's definitely mixed up in Max's story and has a moment of heroism, and endangers his life somewhat. He shows himself to be a decent bloke trying to do decent things."
Meanwhile next week, after the shocking scenes at the market, Max is questioned by police about his involvement in Griff's gang - but he is soon released without charge.
Meanwhile, David is left shocked when his mum Gail decides not to support Max and things get worse when the teenager comes face to face with Griff.
Horrified, Max and Griff face off after the police grilling and Daryan tells David that he had tried to speak to Max but he could hear him arguing with a man inside the house. Panicked, David rushes to the house to find out what's happened.
A fight breaks out in the house between Griff and David - but are Max and David in danger? In the fallout Max will plot an exit - but is this the end for Griff or is there more to come?
