Corpse of OAP missing for months found stuffed into own bin with his hands bound

A rotting corpse of a pensioner who was missing for months has been found stuffed inside his bin in his back garden.

Police in Detroit, Michigan, say, Walter Dansby, 76, was regularly seen on his front porch before suddenly disappearing.

When police initially searched the house they didn't check the bin in the back.

It wasn't until a neighbour noticed a horrific smell coming from the bin that cops went back to the property and made the grim discovery.

Walter's family had reported him missing almost four months ago in January.

FOX 2 reports that Walter's hands were bound in a blanket.

Neighbours told local news they noticed a smell of decomposition in the area and called the police.

Family members who spoke with FOX 2 said Dansby was found in the trash in the back of his house Tuesday afternoon.

Deputy Chief Marlon Wilson told the station: “A neighbour in the area smelled an off odour he went to investigate, called us, and we did, unfortunately, find a victim wrapped in a blanket in the large container in the rear of the location.”

Wilson says the cause of death is unknown as is the person who killed him.

He added: "Right now we are asking the community to provide us with any information the smallest bit of information they might think won't help could lead to something bigger."

Last month, we reported how the body of a child was found by a mushroom hunter hidden inside a suitcase.

The boy has not been identified after the body was found on Saturday morning and police believe he may have been dead for a week.

The suitcase, which had a distinctive Las Vegas design on the front and back, was in the middle of a wooded area in Washington County, Indiana.

Police believe the 4-feet (121cm) tall black boy was aged between five and eight and had a short haircut and a slim build, reports WHAS.

An autopsy did not reveal the boy's cause of death.
