Two days after 18-year-old Jodus Murphy disappeared in central Victoria, CCTV caught someone else using his ATM card.

A month later his body was found on the banks of the Goulburn River.

Victorian coroner John Olle is calling for witnesses to help track the final movements of the teenager, who was last seen alive in Seymour in the Goulburn Valley on May 15, 2003.

Three days earlier on a Friday, Mr Murphy left his home in the bayside suburb of Seaford, where he lived with his mother and siblings.

When he hadn't returned two days later, police launched a missing persons investigation.

On the Sunday evening, CCTV cameras spotted Mr Murphy more than 110km north at Seymour train station, where he was offered a place to stay after finding out there were no more trains further north to Murchison that day.

After staying the night, Mr Murphy was spotted by three witnesses in the vicinity of Abdallah Road, Tarcombe Road, Kennedy Court and surrounding streets in Seymour.

These are the last reported sightings of him alive.

On the Wednesday, May 17, two separate withdrawals at a Seymour ATM were made with Mr Murphy's bank card, by another man.

Almost a month later on June 14, Mr Murphy's body was found on the banks of the Goulburn River at Seymour.

Police did not treat the teenager's death as suspicious, but the coroner is appealing for anyone with information or who may have seen Mr Murphy in or around Seymour at the time to contact CrimeStoppers.
