Coronavirus: UK approves Moderna vaccine targeting Omicron variant, key points to know

The UK's Medicine and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has approved an updated Moderna vaccine against the coronavirus' Omicron variant.

In an official statement, Moderna vaccine has announced that: the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) in the UK has granted conditional authorization for the use of the Omicron-containing bivalent COVID-19 booster vaccine, mRNA-1273.214 (Spikevax Bivalent Original/Omicron) as a booster dose for active immunization to prevent COVID-19 caused by SARS-CoV-2 in individuals 18 years of age and older.
