Coronation Street viewers were split on whether or not Toyah would be sent down for murder.
Toyah finally stood trial for the murder of Imran tonight. His death came as the result of weeks of drama, bringing his battle with Abi over their baby son, Alfie to a close.
Imran was confronted about framing Abi for buying and using drugs, and was about to confess everything when he was stopped in his tracks by a car crash. On their way to the station, Toyah lost control of the car, leaving them both seriously injured.

Imran was able to pull himself from the wreckage and urged those helping to focus on Toyah instead of him. After they were both freed he suffered a cardiac arrest and eventually died before he could make it to the hospital.
The event plagued Toyah's mind but she was quickly accused of killing him on purpose. Not long beforehand, she struggled with accepting she wouldn't be allowed to adopt Abi and Imran's child, sending a wedge between the two.
As she stood trial tonight, viewers were split on which way it would go and whether or not she would be sent down after months of trauma.
Trying to predict which way the case would go, one viewer said: "Ok, have I forgotten Toyah & Imran’s crash? Because he didn’t die in the crash, so how can she have murdered him? Surely the technicality would be he could have had the heart attack anytime?"
Another added: "I bet they're gonna play the recording of Toyah's confession in the trial...?"
A third viewer added: "Prosecution lawyer on fire. Like she said the evidence already proven there was no reason for Toyah to suddenly lose control of the car. Might be a different story if it was her car, given its earlier issues. Also, why get rid of the voicemail unless hiding something?"
A final comment added: "Don't exactly know how this trial is gonna go down but in my opinion, the only thing criminal about Toyah is her obsession with vegan lasagna."
Toyah said she needed to take to the stand herself to clear her name but quickly buckled under the pressure. As she held back tears, she shouted: "I didn't mean to kill him" before her emotions got the better of her.
