Coronation Street teases cheating scandal for Aggie in shock work romance

Aggie has been known as the loyal matriarch of the Bailey family ever since they stepped foot on the cobbles in 2019.

But it looks like her stoic loyalty and sense of duty will be tested after her new boss catches her eye at the hospital...

Next week on Coronation Street, Aggie finds herself drafted to a different ward in the hospital and is told that her new boss, Mr Thorne, is a stickler for detail.

Yet Aggie is surprised when she meets her boss and is instantly charmed by him as he offers her a warm greeting.

Could Aggie find herself tangled up in a messy office romance?

It comes three months after Aggie was accused of having an affair with Tim Metcalfe after Sally got the wrong end of the stick.

Tim decided to leave his wife in the dark after he suffered a health scare and failed to share the doctor's diagnosis with Sally.

However, because Tim had confided in Aggie about what was going on, Sally became convinced that the pair were having an affair.

Thankfully, the couple have since been able to work it out after the truth was unearthed.

Corrie writers had reportedly clashed over the storyline over potentially splitting up the beloved couple.

Speaking in January, soaps expert Sharon Marshall said on This Morning : "Before Christmas, there was this big Corrie press conference and the writers admitted this was the subject of a huge debate in the writers' room.

“There were arguments - some of the team do want to, but there have been some who don't.

“What we will see is that she will become more and more paranoid, she will put a tracker on his phone, she will start to think Tim is having an affair.

“He is spending lots of time with Aggie, because she is a nurse, and he is spending time with her. But I hope they don't.”
