Coronation Street's boss has confirmed fans' fears as Summer Spellman will find herself in "mortal danger".
The character, played by Harriet Bibby, has endured a turbulent time in Weatherfield after she agreed to be surrogate parent for Mike and Esther. She has since suffered a miscarriage, but has lied to Mike and Esther until they give her the agreed sum of money as she wants to pay for her boyfriend's dad to go to rehab.
Fans have expressed concern throughout the plot as they are convinced Mike and Esther's true motives are something more sinister. Corrie producer, Iain MacLeod, told the ECHO and other press that the plot is "gonna end badly" for all the characters involved.

He added: "For a very intelligent young woman, Summer has made a series of very bad decisions. She will continue to make a couple more throughout this. It's all driven because she feels incredibly guilty for the lies she told Esther and Mike.
"In an effort to make amends for some of that, she allows herself to turn a blind eye to some of the red flags in Esther and Mike's relationship. She essentially finds herself in a degree of mortal danger by the end of it all as a result of her determination to do right by them."
Iain said Summer will rely on the help of Billy Mayhew, Todd Grimshaw and Paul Foreman to save her. He added: "It's her three dads that save her from oblivion and bring her back to normality and reconnect her with who she was before she lost her way a bit. It's got a nice, heart-warming aftertaste."
Spoilers for tonight's episode reveal Summer will be shocked when bailiffs turn up at Mike and Esther's house. The spoilers add: "As the bailiffs start gathering up Mike and Esther’s things, Summer’s horrified.
"When Mike and Esther return, Summer demands to know what is going on. Over tea, Billy tells Summer that he’d like to accompany her to her appointment with the surrogacy consultant as he intends to support her in any way he can."
