It's one of the biggest weeks Coronation Street will see this year next week as the schedule undergoes its annual shakeup. Whilst the action from the Cobbles usually airs from 8pm for an hour on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, next week will be different.
For the week of the May 29th, the Britain's Got Talent live semi-finals will cause a shake-up for the soaps as the final few episodes of the talent show air each evening ahead of the grand final. For one week only Emmerdale will air for half an hour each day at 7pm, whilst Coronation Street will air at 7.30pm each day for half an hour before the semi-finals air live from 8pm.

And there's a lot going on in Weatherfield. The week kicks off, on Monday, May 29, with Gemma Winter and Chesney Brown's wedding day. Bernie is annoyed when Linda sits next to Dev Alahan at the wedding.
But all eyes will be on Gemma as she sports a jaw-dropping orange dress - complete with fairy lights - for her special day. The character, played by Dolly-Rose Campbell, can be seen sporting the impressive two-metre wide dress, with a stunning seven-metre long train, complete with fairy lights, alongside her groom, whose suit has been bought by his son Joseph's grandmother, Linda.
The kebab shop worker, played by Sam Aston, looks dapper in the navy three-piece, worn over a crisp white shirt complete with a matching silk orange tie and pocket square. The loved-up couple are also seen alongside their children, with Joseph wearing the same as his father.
The quads, meanwhile, are simply adorable with Aled and Bryn sporting white shirts and navy trousers with orange dickie bows and matching braces while Carys and Llio continue the theme in white leotards with tutus to match their mum's dress and added multi-coloured fairy wings.
In the church, the congregation watches as Gemma's brother Paul, battling his motor neurone disease symptoms, walks Gemma down the aisle as they marvel at the dress of her dreams.
Paul's partner Billy Mayhew shares a knowing look with Paul as Gemma and Chesney prepare to say their vows. As they complete the legalities of the big day to cheers from family and friends it looks like nothing can ruin the couple's day. But it looks like Gemma is about to face heartache as Paul makes a speech. Becoming emotional he hurries out, dragging his foot.
Also, the day of Justin's trial for the acid attack arrives, and there's a spy in the Rovers. In scenes to air on Tuesday, May 30, Justin’s sister Karen calls at the pub, telling Daisy how sorry she is for Justin’s attack and how she hopes he’ll be sent down. Daisy is touched by her support.
But Carla and Ryan are also in the Rovers. Carla tells Karen to stop staring at Ryan. But Daisy defends her and tells Carla that Karen is Justin’s sister and has apologised for her brother’s actions
Appalled by her presence, Things get heated and Ryan reminds Daisy that she broke him and Alya up as she went out of her way with her lies. Karen takes all this in as Daniel Osbourne defends Daisy.
Later in the week, on Thursday June 1, as Ryan leaves for court, Karen admits that she passed on what she gleaned about Daisy’s history of manipulation to Justin’s lawyer. Ryan lets himself back into Street Cars flat, too distressed to face the court.
Carla offers to take Ryan to court if he changes his mind about going and soon Daniel knocks and guilt trips Ryan. When Daniel says it will be Ryan’s fault if Justin goes free, Carla sends him packing.
Going back a day, on Wednesday May 31, elsewhere on the cobbles, as Freddie goes in for his operation, Nina Lucas reveals to Evelyn Plummer that Roy Cropper's sleepwalking again as he worries about his own operation.
Realising he’s been sleepwalking again and has left the café door open Roy, Nina and Evelyn go out in search of Freddie. Roy then tells Nina about his operation and hands Evelyn a stack of letters for her to distribute should he die.
And, at the end of the week, Daniel takes to the witness box and tells the court how Justin relentlessly stalked Daisy in the run up to his acid attack. Daisy is about to do a runner when Carla spots her, urging her to stand up and prove to Justin that he can’t control her.
As the defence barrister gives Daniel a grilling, painting Daisy as highly strung and unreliable, she enters the witness box.
On Friday June 2, it is Ryan's turn to enter the witness box - and he describes to the court how Justin threw the acid intending it for Daisy, but he took the full force causing indescribable pain.
The defence barrister cross examines Ryan, suggesting it’s he who’s in love with Daisy and they plotted the acid attack themselves. Ryan and Daisy are horrified.
Justin then takes the stand and says Daisy was afraid of Daniel. Carla and Jenny’s anger rises as they listen to Justin’s lies. When Justin claims Ryan threw the acid, Ryan leaves the room.
